With pip, there are two options:. local editable install. using a tagged release version from the pip repoFor consistency between all developers, it is recommended to use Pythonvirtual environments;provides a great introduction.

Using virtual environments in a Jupyter Notebookis described. Local Editable InstallationThe local editable installation allows developers to maintain an importableinstance of FLORIS while continuing to extend it. The alternative is toconstantly update python paths within the package to match the localenvironment. Before doing the local install, the source code repository must be cloneddirectly from GitHub. So personally expanded troop trees is great. If you love the native game it's perfect.

Included Mods. There are quite a few mods, scripts and other sources used, sometimes partially, in the Floris Mod Packs. In this post I list them all. I made some handy categories, but I didn't list mods 'double': if I used for example both items and skins from one mod, I listed it under one category. Jul 07, 2014  Floris Expanded Mod Pack Update 2.3 - 2.4 The installer packed into two files, else it won't fit on the site. This patch will update both Floris 2.5 and Floris 2.51 to the latest version: 2.52. This patch will update your Floris Mod Pack 2.5, 2.51 or 2.52 to version 2.53.

Has the same theme same setting they've just revamped all the units and made each faction more unique and interesting. Also more of a theme to their real life counter parts.Another great feature is bandit armies. At the start bandit act mostly the same but as the game progresses a bandit leader will spawn for each type, Forest, mountain, sea raiders etc. Then all the bandit of that type will converge and all the smaller bandit troops will follow him like a marching army. It's really good feature.

They also normally have alot of prisoners so if you have a big army it's a good target. Just be prepared late game to fight 1000 forest bandits with like 600 random prisoners. Really fun though and they can be fairly easily avoided if you need to.Another great mod is freelancers. You will meet a man cladded in black armour called Sigmund in taverns occasionally.

From him you can recruit freelancer recruits which are a tier 1 unit. You can talk to them and choose what equipment you want them to take. They can upgrade into all types of unit.

Spearmen, heavy can, horse archer, crossbow, any type. Really fun to use and make your custom units. You can also join a lords army as a single soldier, start off at the bottom and work your way up the troop tree and get payed a wage which can be fun to try.One of my favourite feature is pause at hostile during fast travel, what it says on the tin. You can run around the map holding ctrl+space and if a hostile army comes into view the game will pause and tell you. I can't play without it now it's a massive improvement for quality of life. Also with the expanded troop tree every vanilla item in the game has been removed and replaced. It's basically the base game but just with an overhaul. Still my favourite warband mod of all time.Any questions about it feel free to ask. There are lots of other unique and cool features these are just what came off my head.

Floris

Sadly I have not played Floris Evolved, but in Floris Expanded, my favourite feature was all the butter you could get from Swadian villages!Afar from that I loved how it expanded the troop trees, which admittedly it is a feature some people love and some people hate. I just enjoyed training them more and them reaching a higher power level eventually =DI like how in tournaments you can set difficulty, meaning you can start doing them even when your character is weak, if you keep the difficulty down, along of course with getting better prizes if you raise the difficulty. Although personally I prefer themed tournament style like Pendor has. Still though, Floris had a nice idea =DLet's not forget the tons of new weapons, armour, horses and whatnot! Finally it includes Diplomacy module, which is something most modules go ahead and add, as it makes the game so much better. It did not feel more complicated, as much as I slowly kept finding it had new features.

If you are to ignore extra features it offers, it will be like playing native but with a more advanced troop tree.Personally I did not like the native module, but I liked the module. Diplomacy, unlike Floris, does not add any stuff, as much as it removes some headaches coming totally from the political side of the game, that is not that refined to begin with.

It also adds battle continuation. I am one of the people that prefers that I battle until I defeat my enemy or lose, without being kicked on the map after every battle phase. That will let you enjoy the vanilla game with less headaches. Do not get confused too much. Modules on mount and blade are more or less full mod packs. It is just that Floris (and most modules probably), has absorbed Diplomacy to have all it's features. It removes the headaches of the political part, by refining it.

If anything it adds new options, that normally the player will be asking his screen 'why can't I just do that?' =DYou can check a compact list of what Diplomacy does. If I have had to choose favourite features, the top one would be that I can return fiefs to my liege, as long as I am a vassal. I always try to get rid of villages, as I do not want to own any of them so that feature is great for me =D Normally in native game I have to hope the enemy takes the fief that the village I get initially is part of, so I will lose that too.Autoloot is great too, although on Expanded it did not work that well. But I always am happy when I find modules with autoloot.Anyway just read that list and you will see what it does more or less =).
