I've got an entry level laptop that can play Skyrim w/ a lot of mods at a reasonable fps(30-45). And I wanna know what are the recommended 'Essential Mods' for FO4. This would be based around the survival mode. Also, which Mod Manager should I use? NMM or MO?Mod Objectives:.

QoL Improvements. Bugfixes.

No drastic changes(basically anything that makes it not vanilla fallout anymore). Keep the Vanilla/Lore-friendly feeling. Doesn't tank the FPS heavily and can help increase the fps. Minimalist load/mod orderSo with that in mind, here are some of the mods that I will be installing, please do help me add more as you see fit. Or replace them if there's a better one. 1.

gonna be using the Potato Version. 2. 3. + added + added. 4. 5.

6. Added - a major QoL Improvement.

Textures

7. Added - Fixes Mouse sensitivity. 8.

Added. 9. 10. 11. 12.

Added + added. 16. Added - Read about Survival damage multipliers getting bugged and saw some explanations. 17.

18. Removes HitScan on Bullets. Cam2web for mac. Probably adds bullet drop.

19. Removes the Bullet-sponginess of enemies. 20. Added - I dislike leveling infinitely(though technically there is a level cap, but that's 10's of thousands).

I'm opting for a level cap of 120 or 150, with respect to Mythic Deathclaw's base level. 21.

22. Added - I'll try not to save scum, but I only need the manual save option from this mod. It would be tedious not to be able to save when/if my games becomes unstable or crashes to desktop.

25. Added - Reminds me of the HuD improvement in Skyrim. I forgot the name. 26. Added - Seems like the mfg console in Skyrim.

27. Added - I only need to the enable Fast Travel option. Not the ones that would lead me to cheating. This is because I'm skeptical if it's still possible to get stuck in a place just like in Skyrim, where you pretty much have to use the console and type 'tcl'. 28.

Added - Show real time while loading. Why not?EDIT: Here are my specs. i7-4510u. R5 M230/HD 8500M. 6 GB RAMEDIT2: Some tweaks I found while browsing:. needs AutoHotKey.

Found some good QoL Improvement mods that may help with my low end rig.- I'll try not to save scum, but I only need the manual save option from this mod. Why not?. Yeah, I'm gonna use ENBoost, but didn't include in my OP since it's pretty much 'do or bust' anyway.I don't feel like using Reverb Overhaul based from what the other users in nexus are saying. Like a number of sounds are too loud. I use headphones when gaming and kinda worried if it's actually too loud.As for Everyone's Best Friend, I'm not gonna need it as I dislike having companions/followers when playing a Bethesda game. I plan on playing Survival, idk if having that mod will make it easier. As for MCM, I think I'll keep it and use Elit3WolfPack's recommendation to switch to.EDIT: posted my specs in the OPEDIT2: I feel like I won't be installing weather mods if it adds weathers that introduce a lot of particle effects.

Fallout 4 Optimized Vanilla Textures

Most notably fog/gust. My GPU just can't handle such mods. Has always been a must have for me when looking for performance boost. However it hasn't been updated for the latest patch and no word from the mod author yet, I did find this replacement for it that is supposed to be just as good if not better.

I haven't had a chance to test it yet though! Also I have always liked it kind of sounds like that other mod you have listed PhyOp does something similar but I haven't had a chance to try it out. Also all of the Vivid Fallout texture mods by Hein84 I think are supposed to be more performance friendly(less vram usage) while looking better, but you'll have to test that one out too ha. I'm kinda skeptical about that Dynamic Performance Tuner. Idk how it would play with ENBoost. I'll probably reduce shadow draw distance anyway, if it's possible. As for Optimized Textures, yeah, I'm sticking with PhyOp. Reason being there's no better Potato Quality alternatives in the nexus.Hmm.

ReTextures, idk if I would ever use one. If they have 512 Textures that'd be great.

But if not I'll see to it if I can bother to DDSopt the textures. Assuming it also works on FO4 texture files. There's also the issue on the Vivid Fallout mod about 'The game keeps disabling the mod' in the bugs section.

A user said that the author forgot to set the master file(Fallout4.esm) on the.esp file.

If you've searched Performance Mods for Fo4 on Google once, you might have came across this thread:Anyway, for anyone looking for performance mods, they might still be helpful, but that thread was made two years ago, and thus a little bit outdated. Here, are more mods that help!1.Mod Description: Most of Vanilla textures were optimized and resized to 512px to increase performance. Some textures are resized in a range from 128px to 1024px. The packages also cover the DLC Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor.tbh, I didnt even notice the drop in quality!2.Mod Description: Removes insignificant objects to improve performance without visual degradation. Fallout style. In this one too, I didnt notice anything removed.3.Mod Description: This is just a batch file that changes the numeric values that the godrays use.

Basically it just means you can use the ultra quality god rays without the huge performance hit. Performance should be roughly the same as using the low quality god rays. With this mod, I could enjoy a little bit of quality without too much of FPS sacrifice4.Mod Description: Bethesda's INI configuration files are a mess. BethINI optimizes the game for increased graphical fidelity and performance. This one isn't actually a mod, its a utility program that helps you optimize your game, and depending on how you use it, you will notice significant fps boosts!EDIT: MORE MODS5.Mod Description: x64 optimized patch for heavily modified games, it much more efficiently utilize memory.

Also it increase performance of the game. Now this, Help aloooot with memory issues, awesome mod, by an awesome creator!6.Mod Description: FAR optimizes and improves over 6000+ distant land textures, which means more perfomance and a more stutterfree experience. You dont really look at stuff from far away do you? Then you're in luck, here's a mod that optimizes the things at the horizon.7.Mod Description: Dynamically adjusts Shadow Dir Distance and Godray Quality.Basically changes the settings on the fly, so it hits the fps that you want.8.Mod Description: This mod improves performance (FPS) in Boston and surrounding area. It includes other areas upon request. External areas only. The glory if this mod is beneficial to anyone that roams the boston area but also anyone that has mods that disable previs in the area or break precombines.I dont really have any problems in the boston area, since i dont go around there much, but a wonderful mod to have if you want dat extra fps boost9.Mod Description: Automatically disable VSYNC at loading screen to reduce the load time.

It can be expected to shorten the significant load time under SSD environment. (Under HDD environment does not seem to have much effect)Its useful if you have an SSD Like me.10.Mod Description: Replaces a few landscape textures with a 1 KB invisible texture (to hide the objects) to help the landscape seem a little more clean, and not so wild. Twigs, vines, hedges, shrubs, moss, seaweed, some grasses, etc. They're all invisible with this mod!

(Easily delete the mod's files at ANY time to bring back what you want to see again!)Its Just as the Mod Desc Says! If u dont like green, and healthy things, you might be a sadist!.
